My husband, Geoff waited at our new house all afternoon for deliveries. There's power there but no white goods or tea/coffee/food etc. yet.

The shed arrived as scheduled with a helpful driver, he is supposed to only give a kerbside service but he carried it all the way round the back of the house and put it on the concrete slab that is already there ready and waiting for the shed. So well done to The Shed Store, delivered direct by Waltons Garden Buildings, we bought one of their 10x8 sheds in their sale. All we have to do now is put it up ... that's Sunday's activity!

The fridge/freezer and washer/dryer were supposed to be delivered by Comet the same afternoon. The delivery time given was 2.00pm to 6.00pm, Geoff arrived well before 1.00pm and had a shop bought sandwich there whilst he waited for them. He got a voicemail message when he stepped out into the garden just after 2.00pm to say delivery drivers were waiting outside and there was no-one in ... (how odd!) His phone didn't ring in the house, it's not a good reception area so he rang straight back and said he had been there the whole time and he hadn't heard the door. Comet then changed their story and said they couldn't find the house using Tom Tom (whatever that is, some kind of GPS I imagine), the delivery men would do another job and get to him again later.

6.00pm came and went and so he rang again and Comer said they might be able to get it delivered before 7.00pm. Now this new house is an hour's drive away from where we live at the moment, poor Geoff hasn't eaten since 1.00pm and is desperate for a coffee but he agrees. Then they ring him and say they can't get there afterall. He speaks to a supervisor and they arrange an alternative delivery for 5.30pm tomorrow as Geoff will be in the area and can call by the house after work. We will see what happens ...!
