Unfortunately, neither my darling husband, Geoff, nor I are carpenters. However, the last couple of days we have been masquerading as such whilst insulating my new shed to be bead central in the Sooz Jewels empire.

The floor went really well, polystyrene and tongue and groove chipboard - doddle!

The ceiling started off OK, we impaled Kingspan insulation on the nails that were poking through from nailing on the roofing felt - all by design. Holding up the plywood to keep it all in place and provide a neat and tidy finish was a nightmare though. We really needed three people, one at either end of the sheet of plywood and one to screw it in place. We finally got the first bit positioned using both of our heads, arms held in unnatural positions for far too long, I was in charge of screwing it due to DH's superior strength but the screw gun's battery went! I left DH holding up the plywood on his own (my hero!) whilst I ran into the house to get the replacement battery. I had a total melt down of temper when I couldn't remove the old battery to put the new one in because my arms were aching so much; the air was completely blue and the dog hid from me.

After that, the two walls we finished today went well, there is still a bit to do to finish off, but DH has promised he can work around me now and so I have moved everything in this afternoon. Unwrapping my tools after two weeks without any beadmaking was like greeting old friends - I can't wait to get started tomorrow. I was commissioned on Saturday to make on of my petrol blue ID-style bracelets with a deadline of two weeks - better go and get the silver ordered!
